Tabbed Heat Sink

A heat sink is a component used to dissipate heat into the surrounding air by increasing the surface area in contact with the cooling medium surrounding it. In this model, a box has an internal heat source and several metal tabs are attached onto the box to transfer the heat from inside the box to the environment. The box top surface has a different material and thickness compared to other surfaces of the box. The cooling medium in this case is a constant air flow.
