Tension control strategies for roll-to-roll-processes

This model shows a roll-to-roll-process beginning with a unwind drum, driven by a nip roller and ending with a rewind drum. It demonstrates the capability of the web handling library to test and compare different control strategies. The driven nip roller is controlled by a speed controller. The drums are controlled by a tension controller. The tension is measured on the web span before. This is a simplified way to test controller strategies. The model can be extended with using load cells as measuring units if it is necessary.

This model compares a gain scheduling controller for the tension control with a constant controller. The gain scheduling regards the current radius of the drums. For this purpose the ratio between the current radius and the core radius is calculated. Turn off the boolean constant BC to compare the gain scheduling controller with a constant controller. For that unselect the check box next to parameter 'k'.
