The next generation tool for modeling and simulation uses revolutionary physical modeling techniques

Waterloo, Canada; 02 February 2009: MapleSim, the new high-performance multi-domain modeling and simulation tool from Maplesoft™, is now available in a Japanese Edition. It is a high-performance multi-domain modeling and simulation tool, which dramatically reduces the time required to bring products to market by using physical modeling techniques.

“With speed and efficiency driving all business decisions globally, MapleSim couldn’t have come at a better time,” said Jim Cooper, president and CEO of Maplesoft. “Japan is a critical and fast growing market for us and MapleSim’s undeniable value proposition will allow engineers here to take advantage of a technology that will supercharge the modeling and simulation process of engineering projects.”

“With the MapleSim Japanese edition, engineers now have access to a powerful modeling and simulation tool, along with the world’s most advanced symbolic computing engine of Maple,” said Yoichi Mizoguchi, board member and general manager at Cybernet Systems Co., Ltd., Maplesoft’s partner in Japan. “Our important partnership with Maplesoft continues to provide Japanese engineers with tools and technology that help them save project time and cost.”

About MapleSim
With the cutting-edge physical modeling techniques in MapleSim, users simply create a system diagram on the screen, in the same way they would draw it on paper. The model equations are then generated automatically.

MapleSim applies symbolic preprocessing techniques to these model equations, creating simplified and highly efficient models. Code generated from these simplified models can be exported to real-time and other applications. Because of the symbolic preprocessing, for complex models, this code runs 10 to 100 times faster than traditional simulation tools.

MapleSim contains powerful tools for model design and analysis, including dynamic analysis, control design, and optimization. MapleSim even allows users to easily create custom components and live design documentation.

With the Maple™ computation engine at its core to provide the automatic generation of equations, model simplification, and analysis tools, savings in the design process can range from weeks to months.
