•
This function calculates the value at period=nperiods of an amount given at period=0, when the interest rate is given by rate.
•
The futurevalue() function carries an amount towards the future, the presentvalue() function carries it towards the past.
•
The command with(Finance, futurevalue) allows the use of the abbreviated form of this command.
•
Since futurevalue used to be part of the (now deprecated) finance package, for compatibility with older worksheets, this command can also be called using finance[futurevalue]. However, it is recommended that you use the superseding package name, Finance, instead: Finance[futurevalue].
