Examples

Example 1

In this example, an incomplete equation has been entered.

Solution:

To fix the error, enter a complete equation.

 > $a=5$
 ${a}{=}{5}$ (2.1)

Example 2

$>\mathrm{sin}\left(x\right)$

In this case, an expression was entered after an angle bracket as an attempt to use a Maple prompt (which always displays in red) within Document mode. Document mode uses document blocks as the default input region. However, it is possible to insert a Maple prompt input region while in Document mode.

Solution:

To insert a Maple prompt while in Document mode, from the Insert menu click Insert → Execution Group After Cursor . You can then enter your expression and press Enter to execute.

 >
 ${\mathrm{sin}}{}{x}$ (2.2)

To return to entering text after the Maple input region, from the Insert menu click Insert → Paragraph After Cursor .
