Create a blank smart plot object.

On the ribbon interface, from the Insert tab, click the Plots dialog box launcher, then, in the Plots group, click 2-D Plot.

Place a curve in the plot object by moving or copying an expression from elsewhere in the worksheet. For details, see Drag and Drop a Curve or Surface.
