geom3d

 point
 define a point

Calling Sequence point(P, Px, Py, Pz) point(P, [Px, Py, Pz])

Parameters

 P - the name of the point Px - the x-coordinate Py - the y-coordinate Pz - the z-coordinate

Description

 • A point is represented as a dot. It has position only, and has no length, width, or thickness.
 • A point P is represented by its x, y, and z coordinates.
 • To access the information relating to a point P, use the following function calls:

form(P) returns the form of the geometric object (i.e., point3d if P is a point). coordinates(P) returns [Px,Py,Pz]. xcoord(P) returns Px which is the x-coordinate of P. ycoord(P) returns Py which is the y-coordinate of P. zcoord(P) returns Pz which is the z-coordinate of P. detail(P) returns a detailed expression of the point P.

 • The command with(geom3d,point) allows the use of the abbreviated form of this command.

Examples

 > $\mathrm{with}\left(\mathrm{geom3d}\right):$
 > $\mathrm{point}\left(A,a,b,c\right)$
 ${A}$ (1)
 > $\mathrm{form}\left(A\right)$
 ${\mathrm{point3d}}$ (2)
 > $\mathrm{coordinates}\left(A\right)$
 $\left[{a}{,}{b}{,}{c}\right]$ (3)
 > $\mathrm{xcoord}\left(A\right),\mathrm{ycoord}\left(A\right),\mathrm{zcoord}\left(A\right)$
 ${a}{,}{b}{,}{c}$ (4)
 > $\mathrm{detail}\left(A\right)$
 $\begin{array}{ll}{\text{name of the object}}& {A}\\ {\text{form of the object}}& {\mathrm{point3d}}\\ {\text{coordinates of the point}}& \left[{a}{,}{b}{,}{c}\right]\end{array}$ (5)
