Units of Electric Resistance
Electric resistance has the dimension length squared mass per time cubed electric current squared. The SI derived unit of electric resistance is the ohm, which is defined as a volt per ampere.
Maple knows the units of electric resistance listed in the following table.
An asterisk ( * ) indicates the default context, an at sign (@) indicates an abbreviation, and under the prefixes column, SI indicates that the unit takes all SI prefixes, IEC indicates that the unit takes IEC prefixes, and SI+ and SI- indicate that the unit takes only positive and negative SI prefixes, respectively. Refer to a unit in the Units package by indexing the name or symbol with the context, for example, ohm[SI] or abOmega[EMU]; or, if the context is indicated as the default, by using only the unit name or symbol, for example, ohm or abOmega.
The units of electric resistance are defined as follows.
An abohm is defined as 1.⁢10−9 ohm and is energy-equivalent to the unit centimeter per second (cms).
A statcoulomb is defined as 0.00001⁢c2 ohms where c is the magnitude of the speed of light, and is energy-equivalent to the unit second per centimeter (scm).
A preece is defined as 1.⁢106 ohms.
A planck impedance is defined as a square planck length times planck mass per planck time per planck charge squared.
