Shuttle Valve
Shuttle valve with pressure bias
Description
Connections
Parameters
The Shuttle Valve component allows flow out of port C from either port A or port B, depending which pneumatic port has the higher pressure.
Based on the sonic conductance and critical pressure ratio, the pressure vs. mass flow rate relationship is calculated by the formulation used in the Orifice ISO 6358 component.

Fluid Medium Parameters
The Gas parameters used in the equations are properties defined in the Gas Model component used in the model.
Default
Units
When true the default gas properties defined for Air will be used.
useDefaultMedium
When Use default medium is false this option gets turned on. The user can specify the name of the Gas model dragged into the canvas.

Orifice Parameters
Flow transition constant from turbulent to laminar zone
blamreg
True (checked) means flow restriction area can be given which will be converted to sonic conductance based on Gidlund's approximation
UseRestrictionArea
Valve Parameters
Pressure at which valve is fully open from A to C (C = Copen)
popen
Exact
True (checked) means a first-order dyamics is used for the valve areas
Time constant
tc
Valve Sonic Conductance when closed (leakage)
Cmin
Valve Sonic Conductance when fully open
Cmax
Restriction Area when closed (leakage); used when is true
