Powder Brake
Powder Brake component for R2R systems
Description
Connections
Parameters
The Powder Brake component is a simplified brake model. Normally it is used together with an Unwind Drum to create tension. It is used in the Tension Control Brake component.
Usage
The Powder Brake component needs a defined torque on the input port τ coming from a reference signal or an external control loop (e.g. a tension controller). It contains an inertia for the brake.
Visualization
The Powder Brake component can be visualized in the 3-D Workspace and 3-D Playback Window to show the placement in the R2R web line and present the user-defined tension zones. This is optional and supports the interpretation of a R2R web line. The position of the brake in the x-y plane is needed as well as the roller length, the brake length and the brake diameter. The color can be also defined by the user.
