New Features That Have Been Added to Maple 6
Maple 6 includes many new capabilities and improvements to existing facilities. These are summarized under the following topics.
Maple's linear algebra capabilities have been completely redone and substantially enhanced. One of the most significant changes is the use of the NAG library to do computational numerical linear algebra. Significant changes were made to the Maple language, system facilities, and programming features. For details of these changes, see updates/Maple6/language.
Maple's graphical user interface has been improved on all platforms. To get an overview of these changes, see updates/Maple6/gui. In the Windows version, Maple 6 is available as an add-in to Excel 2000. For more information, see updates/Maple6/Excel.
Maple's fundamental numeric computation model has been completely overhauled to allow smoother integration with external routines and existing standards. For details, see updates/Maple6/numerics and updates/Maple6/WhatsComing.
