Base-Motif Fractal Generator

Instructions

In the example below, a base and motif can be created along with the resultant fractal. The number of sides of the fractal after each iteration is shown in the graph at right.

Draw a motif by clicking or dragging in the leftmost graph. Draw a base by clicking or dragging in the middle graph. Once your base has at least 2 points and your motif has at least 3 points not all in a straight line, the Iterate button will be enabled.

To view the next iteration of the fractal, press the Iterate button.

To clear and start over press the Clear button.

The initial base and motif for this demonstration will generate the Koch Snowflake.
