Simple Hybrid Electric Vehicle Optimization

This model demonstrates the plug-in series HEV fuel consumption optimization problem based on the backward-looking architecture. The model is created using scalable powertrain components.

The Global Optimization Toolbox is used as the optimizer with the objective function being the sum of the gasoline consumption and battery state of charge. The parameters to be optimized are the genset speed and torque which determine the most efficient power output of the genset. Customizable parameters allow for optimizations based on various specified inputs.
