News & Announcements |
DynaFlexPro
Maplesoft announces DynaFlexPro™, designed by MotionPro
Inc., and launched under the MapleConnect™ Premier
program. DynaFlexPro is a Maple based design tool that uses
revolutionary symbolic computation methods to rapidly derive
the system equations of complex mechanical multibody systems.
Unlike other multibody design tools that use purely numeric
solvers, DynaFlexPro generates solutions that are exact,
compact and efficient for real-time implementation, at a
fraction of the cost.
Maple
10 Japanese Edition
Maplesoft announces the availability of Maple 10
Japanese. Maplesoft has partnered with Cybernet Systems to
deliver Maple 10 to the Japanese market and further meet
the needs of its expanding customer base. With the release
of Maple 10 Japanese, Maplesoft has demonstrated its commitment
to providing the Japanese market with the ultimate productivity
tool for solving mathematical problems and creating interactive
technical applications. This release contains the same features
and enhancements found in the recently released English version
of Maple 10.
nVizx™ Demo
Movies Now Available
nVizx is the affordable software alternative for
high end visualization. nVizx works dynamically with Maple
to rapidly generate precise, high resolution images. Check
out
the newly posted nVizx Demo Movies on such topics as: Hydraulic
Elevator Simulation, Modeling the Earth’s Magnetosphere,
Simulation of a McPherson Strut, and Molecular Models.
Advanced
Engineering Mathematics E-Book
Last month Maplesoft released Advanced Engineering Mathematics with Maple™,
the definitive reference software and textbook for engineering mathematics. It
has been very well received and seen much success in it’s first month of
availability. To purchase visit the Maplesoft Web store.
Mathematics
for Chemistry™ with Symbolic Computation
Mathematics for Chemistry with Symbolic Computation is a collection of Maple
worksheets that collectively constitute an interactive electronic textbook of
mathematics for students of chemistry and their instructors. |

Maplesoft in the Press |
See
what the press is saying about Maplesoft. This month
there was a review of Maple 10 in PC Magazine.
Barry
Simon Review “Maple’s
Grand New Look”
"It takes a lot to impress most jaded software reviewers, especially with a product
that we first reviewed in 1989. But we were totally blown away by Maplesoft’s
Maple 10 mathematical package. The user interface has been so completely revamped
that the software feels like a totally different – more like Mathcad on
steroids than the old command-line application."

Model-Based Design Fuels Challenge X Competition
"University of Waterloo (Canada) Alternative Fuels Team beat 16 other talented
teams to place first after the initial year's competition. From a technical perspective,
much of their success can be attributed to innovative model-based design approaches.
In the end, Waterloo Alternative Fuels Team chose The Mathworks' Simulink as
their simulation tool and DynaFlexPro for Maple as a mechatronic system modeling
tool to create the vehicle dynamics model. The efficient code generated by Maple
and DynaFlexPro made real-time simulation possible to test the prototype controller
against a simulation of the plant. By developing the system as described, the
team was able to collapse the design time from what would have normally taken
several months to just a few weeks—and at fraction of the typical cost.”

Maple
Primes Community Site Update
MaplePrimes,
the new online Maple user website has grown into a
full community. There are many active members who pride
themselves in answering all questions quickly, thoroughly
and accurately. A great post this month comes from
alec who
gave a new way of plotting
fractals using
densityplot instead of the traditional plot3d. There
is a new
feature on
MaplePrimes that allows a user to upload a Maple worksheet
and have it converted to HTML. This makes it easy to
post mathematics to the site. The site is growing every
day, so check it out at beta.mapleprimes.com and
see the latest tips, techniques and answers today!
