Maple
T.A. Brings Online Testing to Mu Alpha Theta
Maplesoft is pleased to announce that we’ve partnered
with Mu
Alpha Theta,
a National Mathematics Honor Society, in order to deliver
their annual Log 1 Contest to U.S. and international high
school students. Until now, the Log 1 Contest has been
run with chapter sponsor teachers administering the tests
by pencil and paper and mailing them back and forth with
the national office. Now, using Maple T.A. software, students
will access the Maple T.A. homepage, select the appropriate
test for their individual level and work through 15 general-knowledge
problems that have been algorithmically generated by Maple
T.A. Once a student is finished, the software then grades
the test and records the score, eliminating the need for
the time-consuming manual exercise of marking and grading
every assignment by hand.
While registrations are still being received, already nearly
2000 high school students will begin taking tests on November
7th, and testing will remain open for a period of 2 weeks.
This testing cycle will again be repeated in January and
March, and winners will be declared thereafter.
Combined with our recent announcement of partnering with
the Mathematical
Association of America (MAA),
we’re pleased to see that our Maple T.A. software
is becoming recognized as a tool not only for individual
teachers who are interested in delivering homework, drill,
practice assignments and tests online, but also by groups
interested in the delivery of large-scale national testing.
Adoption of Maple 10 in Academic Markets Exceeds All Expectations
Maplesoft has seen a rapid and strong adoption
of Maple 10 by its long time academic users. There has also
been dramatic growth in the number of new academic users
and participation in key academic programs. In addition to
the strong acceptance of Maple 10, Maplesoft continues its
commitment to the academic user base with key industry partnerships
and the most flexible academic licensing options.
Maplesoft
Expands Distribution to China
CCA Engineering Simulation Software will represent Maplesoft in China. Responding
to the growing international demand for advanced mathematical and analytical
software, CCA Engineering Simulation Software will sell Maplesoft technical productivity
tools to scientists, engineers and educators.
