                              Circuits - How Maple’s 3D capabilities helped
solve the mystery of gate resistance on shoot through.Desktop Engineering,
 October 2006

Alan Elbanhawy, a director at Fairchild Semiconductor
International, used Maple to study and understand
                              physical phenomena such as metal-oxide-semiconductor
field-effect transistor (MOSFET) switching in power
circuits. They examined the effects of lumped and
distributed gate resistance on the phenomenon of
shoot through (also known as cross conduction) in
                              synchronous buck.

                  | Here are some highlights
of this past months press coverage. The first piece of coverage
is a review by Scientific Computing of the MapleConnect
Premier Product nVizx. Many publications including, Design
Line, EE Times, DesignFax, and Computing News wrote about
the announcement of the Maple Toolbox for MATLAB product.

“Many things can be done faster, more intuitively,
more productively and more enjoyably….Using nVizx
is like being given a lump of infinitely elastic clay
and an infinite space in which to play…As is usual,
Maple seeks to combine the best features from different
methods into a compound approach for dealing with literally
                          thousands of variables and constraints.”
