Maplesoft Adds Consulting Services to its Portfolio

Maplesoft recently announced the addition of professional consulting services to strengthen its portfolio of offerings for system-level modeling and simulation. Maplesoft consultants are available to help engineers reduce development time and risk, as well as create better products.
Maplesoft has extensive expertise in system-level modeling and simulation, covering a wide range of applications and industries. Maplesoft’s Modelica-based consulting services include model development and simulation services, analysis and tool development, real-time plant-model code generation, and training. Maplesoft specializes in the modeling, simulation, and optimization of complex multidomain systems. Consultants will draw on the expertise gained from past and current consulting projects, which include the development of a specialized driveline component library, multiple projects with a leading automotive manufacturer to help them move to a model-based development process, the development of battery models for EV and HEV systems, vibration analysis of drivetrain models for marine drivelines, and multiple projects involving the development of custom components and solutions in the areas of robotics, mechatronics, motion control, aerospace, power and energy.
The open, object-oriented, physical modeling language, Modelica, is at the core of most of Maplesoft’s development projects. Modelica-based tools have experienced wide-spread adoption over the past two decades. Maplesoft is committed to supporting the Modelica open standard and the development of a common pool of knowledge that can assist engineering organizations to efficiently develop innovative processes and products that will ultimately benefit everyone. Maplesoft and VI-grade combine to bring modern modeling techniques to vehicle design

Maplesoft recently announced a new product that integrates Maplesoft’s physical modeling tool MapleSim with vehicle dynamics tools from VI-grade. The MapleSim Connector for VI-CarRealTime allows engineers to incorporate high-fidelity, multidomain models created in MapleSim into the real-time vehicle simulation environment of VI-CarRealTime.
MapleSim is a Modelica-based physical modeling and simulation tool that applies modern techniques to dramatically reduce model development and analysis time while producing fast, high-fidelity simulations. VI-CarRealTime provides a fully validated real-time vehicle simulation environment that automotive engineers can use to optimize vehicle designs and control system performance. By using VI-CarRealTime, Vehicle Dynamics engineers can also perform large Design of Experiments (DOE) and multi-objective optimization studies quickly and easily.
“VI-grade customers can now leverage the intuitive physical modeling environment of MapleSim to create high-fidelity models of vehicle subsystems, in a fraction of the time it would take them in other tools,” said Juergen Fett, Managing Director, VI-grade . “Then, they get automatically generated real-time code of the subsystem that they can incorporate into VI-CarRealTime’s full vehicle model, replacing the default subsystem with their own. Not only does this avoid time-consuming and error-prone hand-coding, but MapleSim lets them create extremely detailed models while maintaining real-time simulation speeds. As a result, the simulations results are closer to reality, which ultimately leads to shorter development cycles and better products.”

Maplesoft and Noesis Solutions Work Together in Engineering Design Optimization and Process Integration
Maplesoft™ and Noesis Solutions today announced a partnership that brings together products from both companies to help engineers create superior products while reducing development costs. The companies have developed an interface between Optimus®, from Noesis Solutions, and Maple™ and MapleSim™ from Maplesoft.
The connection, which is implemented as Direct Interface in Optimus, allows MapleSim and Maple users to easily apply design optimization technology from Optimus to find the best parameter values for their complex designs, while continuing to take advantage of the flexible design environments and tools of MapleSim and Maple. Optimus users can now add Maple and MapleSim as system simulation software tools in their design and development.
The Optimus platform automates the traditional ‘guess & correct’ simulation based design process, and with powerful optimization algorithms efficiently directs the simulation to identify the best designs. After evaluating the most promising design candidates, customers pick the most optimal and robust design option to verify in detail and take into production. Users report design time savings averaging over 30%, while simultaneously improving design performance by 10% or more.

Maple 16 Makes Engineering Math Easier

It can also be creatively used in conjunction with other design tools such as CAD packages, MATLAB and modeling software to build a more complete design and simulation environment... It has the ability to reach beyond initial design efforts, into modeling and simulation through interaction with other products. Maple 16 would be a great addition to the toolkits of design professionals who spend a lot of time in exploratory design. |
