Application Center Highlights

Applications of Numerical Continuation, ODE-IVP Approach Author: Hakan Tiftikci In this application, the numerical continuation method is applied to a surface-surface intersection problem and kinematic analysis of a common mechanism called four-bar. The approach employed in this application is to convert a nonlinear equation system to a differential system which in turn describes an ODE-IVP problem. Applications of numerical continuation methods include determination of trim point of an aircraft, envelope of moving planar shapes and inverse kinematics of serial manipulators.
